B(eco)meGreen.org Environmental Education Initiative
More than 100 billion plastic bags are used annually in the United States, and the average person uses 336 single-use bags a year. An estimated 4 billion of these bags end up as litter. When you shop at Half Price Books, we welcome you to say "no" to a bag at checkout. Paper or plastic? How about neither? Reusable bags are better for the environment. Bring your own reusable carrier or purchase one of ours. HPB reusable tote bags are on sale for 98¢ in stores while supplies last. Half Price Books will contribute 5¢ for every bagless or reusable bag transaction to BecomeGreen.org Environmental Education Initiative. Our goal is to get a million people a year to refuse a plastic bag when they shop in our stores. [learn more]
