Half Price Books Honored for Award-Winning Creative
Company Receives Three National RAC Awards and Four Dallas Addy Awards

DALLAS (February 14, 2007)— Half Price Books, the nation's largest new and used bookstore chain, was honored last week with multiple awards for it's outstanding creative and advertising.

The Retail Advertising and Marketing Association awarded the company with the following nationally-recognized RACie awards presented at the Retail Advertising Convention in Chicago, which is one of the most significant, annual retail gatherings in the nation:

  • Half Price Books received a GOLD RACie Award for their work titled "DeleteCensorship.org" in the Web sites category. The site was created in just two weeks in order to raise awareness for Banned Books Week 2006.

  • Half Price Books received a GOLD RACie Award for their work titled "Love, Cherish & Let Go" in the In-Store Communications category. The campaign was designed to support Half Price Books annual book buy-back campaign.

  • Half Price Books was honored as runner-up for their work titled "Sprout Hope for Hospitalized Children" in the Peter Glen public service award category. The campaign was part of the company's Half Pint Library program, an annual book drive for children.

In addition the company received four Addy awards from the Dallas Ad League, a professional and civic organization in Dallas that works to build industry knowledge and relationships among the advertising community:

  • Half Price Books received a Gold Addy Award for their work titled "Holiday Penguins," in the Illustration, Illustration Campaign category. The creative was part of the company's holiday campaign.

  • Half Price Books received a Silver Addy Award for "DeleteCensorship.org" in the Web Sites, Consumer, HTML/Other category.

  • Half Price Books received a Silver Addy Award for their work titled "Say Good Night to Illiteracy 12th Edition Cover" in the Illustration, Single category. The storybook is published annually by Half Price Books as a reminder to parents that time spent reading to their child will develop lasting reading habits that will help them become more successful adults.

  • Half Price Books received a Bronze Addy Award for "DeleteCensorshiip.org" in the Broadcast/Electronic, Interactive category.
