Half Price Books Opens Store in Roseville

Roseville, MN (September 10, 2007) Half Price Books, the nation's largest family-owned new and used bookstore chain, will open its seventh Twin Cities location on Thursday, September 20 The new Roseville Half Price Books, which is located at 2481 N Fairview, occupies nearly 8,000 square feet. The store hours are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mayor Craig Klausing will kick off the grand opening activities at 9 a.m., Thursday, September 20 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The first 100 customers through the door Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will receive special Half Price Books tote bags containing $5 gift cards and every day one lucky customer will receive a gift card worth $250. Other grand opening activities include: Saturday, September 15: BW the Bookworm, Half Price Books costume character, will be at the Roseville Wild Rice Festival, 2520 N. Dale, in Roseville, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. mingling with attendees and posing for pictures. Saturday, September 22: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., BW the Bookworm and his friends from the Harriet Alexander Nature Center will be at the new Roseville store to pass out free, reusable water bottles, energy saving tips and other goodies to customers. The 52-acre Harriet Alexander Nature Center in Roseville is dedicated to the preservation and protection of hundreds of animal and plant species. "The support of this community has allowed us to grow and expand in order to offer our customers even more access to our unique merchandise mix than ever before," said Kathy Doyle Thomas, executive vice president of Half Price Books. "Our stores are distinctive in that we offer a different inventory than other major retail booksellers because our customers sell directly to us. Many items simply aren't available in other bookstores."
