American Scenery

London: J.S. Virtue. 1855

This set of two volumes bound as five contains 117 steel-engraved plates by British artist W.H. Bartlett (with protective tissue leaves) depicting natural areas and city scenes of the United States. Willis was an American author, poet and editor who worked with several notable American writers, including Poe and Longfellow. Some bumping to boards and wear to spine. $600
